how do i take the conduct unit off of a briggs ten horse motor is it possiblr?
is it possible to remove the conductor unit off of a ten horse briggs motor came off of a generator and is the shaft keyed
Tommy, I am a bit confused by your terms. What I think you are asking is how to take the rotor from a generator off of the crankshaft of a briggs engine. If that is the case than first you need to remove the bolt from the end of the rotor. It runs all the way through the rotor into the end of the crankshaft. Than get a good steel rod that is a bit longer than the bolt and just a bit bigger around. Make sure the rod is larger in diameter than the bolt so you don't mess up the threads in the end of the crankshaft. Slide the rod into the bolt hole and hit the end of it with a hammer. The rotor will slide off the shaft. The shaft is not keyed, it is tapered. So when you get the rotor off you will have an engine with a tapered crankshaft. Hope this is what you are asking.
