i bought patio varieties of tomato (goliath bush) and red and yellow bell peppers.will they do well?
Is this a gimmick or will they actually be prolific and produce fruit well?
They'll do fine provided: 1. You water. 2. You water. (kidding) Water is the most likely reason for plants not doing well; if they wither just once, they'll make you suffer. If you keep them watered--and I'd use rainwater collected from gutters, or well water, before you use city water (chlorine)--and use a diluted Miracle-Gro solution once a week, you will be very pleased. Make SURE the container is not wimpy and will allow the plant to thrive (remember that repotting is not a good idea for vegetables, they get once chance before fall and they can't take time and energy to regroup).
