How to start a garden?
This spring I would like to start a floral garden and a vegetable garden. I have very little experience in this matter so I need tips. I plan on doing a small floral garden but a rather large vegetable garden. I'd like to plant potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, etc.
When I start a new garden first I make a plan, that way I know what exactly I want to do and how to go about it. After that I gather all of my materials, including plants, seeds, tools, ect. After that its time to brush up on what the particular plants will need, soil type, light, and so forth. Once that is done, I'm ready to start planting. I know alot of first time gardeners who went with raised beds because they are easier to tend to and don't really require as much time as a regular garden bed would. Its really important to just keep trying even if some of the plants fail to thrive, gardening is just like everything else practice makes perfect.
