Is it easy to take care of a ten gallon tank?
I am in college and live in the dorms, would it be simple and easy to take care of a 10 gallon tank with maybe 5-6 fish in it? What kinds of things would I have to do to keep it healthy for fish? What kinds of fish are easy to keep alive?
well you'd need a filter, a heater (if it's tropical fish you're after) and some kind of decorations for the fish to use.. plants, wood, resin decoration (castles, pirate ship, etc)
some easy to care for fish:
cherry barbs
zebra danios
cories
neon tetras
guppies
platys
kuhli loaches
pearl danios
harlequin rasboras
dwarf gouramis
bettas
alot of tropical fish are either hard to breed or need very specific intervention from the fish keeper to breed
the only things that i know of that wil breed in any 'ol tank would be livebearers ...(guppies platys swordtails and mollies)...
and convict cichlids
both can be easily avoided by buying all females.. and it's easy to tell the difference well after all its fairly easy if your responsible
