do i really need to cover my pool for the winter?
i have no trees in the area. is there any reason to cover it besides debris?
In winter evaporation is not an issue. You don't have to cover it. Sometimes people pay little attention to their pools in winter and if it is covered you may not notice it turning green on you, or some other problem such as water level, etc.
If you cover is a safety cover, then it may be advisable to keep it FULLY covered. If it is a "bubble cover" and does not seal on the edges, it is not going to keep your pool any cleaner, maybe even make it worse.
