How do I ground a head unit (stereo) in an ice chest/cooler setup?
I'm building an ice chest stereo for toobing, and I'm curious as to how I should ground the head unit when there's no real ground except for the battery (negative terminal). Is that my only option? Are there any other precatuions I can take in order to prevent the head unit from getting fried? We're using a deep cycle Optima battery, 2 6x9's and 2 6.5's. Hopefully this thing works out. Suggestions, ideas, pictures, thoughts, etc are welcome. Thanks.

just got back from the guadalupe river in new braunfels texas. it was my first trip toobing and it will not be my last. we went with a group of 20 people from dallas and we had plenty of music for the whole trip.....except on the river. we saw all kinds of contraptions and my goal over the next few weeks before i go back is to built me one. talked to one guy floating and he had a great set up. marine radio and speakers with a remote control (in a waterproof bag). he said he had made it himself and did all the cut outs into the ice cooler and made sure they werte water tight....i was so jealous....will not go back until i can build one that will blow it away....i am tempted to just start making them and selling them.....just shocked nobody is making/selling ice chest boom boxes for toobing??!!
